eTAの申請が終わると、カナダ政府から申請結果のメールが届きます。
通常であれば72時間以内と政府が公言していますが、72時間を超える場合もかなりの確率であります。
ただし、72時間以内に申請結果が来ないから「渡航認証拒否された」ということではありません。
渡航認証許可結果の遅延に関しては政府側しか理由は分からないのですが、ここ最近はカナダの渡航認証申請システムが不安定なため遅延が発生しているのではないかと想定しております。
☝POINT
1、申請フォームの情報に不備があるため正確なジャッジ（審査）に時間がかかる
2、カナダ政府のシステム障害が起こり、先の申請が後回しになるため通知が遅れる
3、以前にカナダへの渡航歴が無くとも、カナダ政府の何らかしらの理由により渡航認証許可が下りない
4、フォームを入力し決算も終えたが、カナダ政府へ追加の情報を求められている
渡航認証許可通知が遅延するケース
1、申請フォームの情報に不備があるため正確なジャッジ（審査）に時間がかかる
2、カナダ政府のシステム障害が起こり、先の申請が後回しになるため通知が遅れる
3、以前にカナダへの渡航歴が無くとも、カナダ政府の何らかしらの理由により渡航認証許可が下りない
4、フォームを入力し決算も終えたが、カナダ政府へ追加の情報を求められている
上記のケースを想定しながら申請を待つのも一つの案です。
すぐに渡航認証許可が下りないから焦っても、結果を知っているのはカナダ政府のみです。
重要なのは「4、フォームを入力し決算も終えたが、カナダ政府へ追加の情報を求められている」場合です。
これが本当に面倒な作業をしなくてはならず、GCKeyとMYCICというアカウント取得をカナダ政府が促してきます。
この面倒な作業を終わらせない限り、カナダ政府から渡航認証許可が下りることは永久にありません。
登録方法、追加情報のアップロード方法などは申請者本人が自分で調べて完了させなくてはならないため、この作業に慣れていない場合はかなりの時間と労力を費やすことになります。
面倒だからといって再度申請した場合も、同じく追加情報を求められ渡航認証保留という状態になります。
以下では、メールの内容によりステータスがどのようになっているかを解説します。
電子渡航認証が”保留”になっている場合
以下、カナダ政府からのメールになります。
「申請を受け付けているけども審査に時間をいただいているため保留中ですよ」
この時に発行される番号が下記のApplication numberのXVやVから始まる番号です。（通称XV番号）

「カナダ旅行が決まってから余裕をもって申請してください」などの告知が政府のHPにあるように、これだけ申請する人の状態によって左右されます。早めの申請をしたほうがいいですよ。

さて、政府へ追加情報を送りなさいという旨のメールが来た方。
まず下記のStatus見てください。
（Pending – Client action required）と書かれているのがわかると思います。
これはV番号（保留中）が付与されていて、一見保留中のように見えますが、実は保留中とは少しニュアンスが違います。
簡単に言ってしまえば「追加情報を送らないと渡航認証許可は降ろさないよ」というものです。
